Modules
Hello everyone, as we embrace another Friday, I’d like to extend warm greetings to you all. Reflecting on the past week, it’s been a period of relative calm with no major updates or noteworthy events to share from modules. Our efforts were dedicated to our existing tasks, and we remained engaged in advancing those initiatives. I hope that the sun’s radiant rays are bringing positivity and delight to your days, and I wish you all an enjoyable and fulfilling time ahead.
Tooling
Hello from the tooling team, this week we have been working in the background, starting to plan for Q4, enjoying a public holiday for the team in Belfast on Monday alongside iindividual team members on holiday this week. September is upon us, which means we have pumpkins, autumn leaves and dark nights coming soon. In Belfast personally I didn’t feel like we had much of a Summer this year, excluding the week I spent in Tenerife.
puppet-lint unsafe_interpolations
So yeah puppet-lint, we reconise we made a few mistakes last week and again apoliguse for any inconvenience we may have caused you all with the release. With the team being on a public holiday on Monday we really missed this one. However when business resumed on Tuesday we turned it around as fast as we could. We have pulled the puppet-lint unsafe_interpolations check and will resolve some of the issues highlighted before we consider integrating in the near future.
Firewall is coming to a close!
I know this seems pretty confusing as firewall should be under modules, however we brought it into the tooling remit for a short period of time just to get it finished up. This piece of work has been a long time coming, with massive efforts from our very own David Swan. The final PR has now been merged into main and we are letting it settle for a few days before we consider cutting a release. Once this is finalised, we will hand this back over the the modules team to continue owning.
Keep your eyes peeled for a blog post on all of the changes made, it is on its way and we will circulate it with you all as soon as it is ready to go.
