2024-07-12: DevX Status Update
Categories:
Hello hello!
Hello again from all of us here at the DevX team. You might find us a bit quieter, as we begin to wind down for a public holiday on Friday the 12th, but we have got some exciting news for you..
New team member!
We’ve grown, again! This week, we’ve had Alex Patterson join us. Alex was with Puppet initially as an intern, has now returned to us as an Associate Software Engineer, here’s a few words from the man himself..
Hello I’m Alex, I’ve returned to Puppet after a previous Internship. I am excited to join the DevX team and look forward to the journey ahead. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, learning languages and playing guitar.
Community Labeller
You might have noticed that when raising a PR or Issue on any of our repos, it would automatically get assigned the community
label from our bot. But, in our continuous effort to streamline and optimize our processes, we’ve made the decision to remove the labeller workflow across our entire suite of tools. As a result, we’re also planning the deprecation and subsequent archiving of the “community-labeller” repository into the toy-chest in the near future. This aligns with our goals of simplifying our tooling and focusing on the most impactful areas of our development process.
There is some big works in the pipeline..
We’re continuing to work out the next steps for our new module maintenance tool. We’ve no name for it yet but the most exciting concept, I think, is the introduction of a module dependency contract. We’ll keep you posted on progress and once again thanks to our community for your invaluable input on this!
That’s all
That’s all from us for this week, hope you all have a nice weekend!
